Fiscal instruments for biodiversity in Europe

To achieve several of the SDGs and Aichi targets requires the phase out and reform of biodiversity harmful subsidies and the introduction of economic/fiscal incentives. To this end, the identification, definition and quantification of these subsidies is essential. This international workshop organised by the Federal Agency for Nature Conservation of Germany (BfN) brought together scientists, practioners and policy makers with experiences and/or interest in biodiversity harmful subsidies and environmental taxes for nature conservation to discuss experiences , research results and needs from different countries.
