Online course: Municipal market-based tools for sustainable development

This online course is designed to equip municipal employees, federal and provincial employees that work with municipalities, with knowledge of market-based tools that can support sustainable asset management, finance infrastructure investments, and improve environmental outcomes. With the specific needs and challenges of municipal employees in mind, the five course modules include live, interactive webinars led by experts and practitioners combined with a series of self-directed, online exercises. The course offers participants the opportunity to understand the case for market-based tools at the municipal level and learn how market-based tools can be used to manage traffic congestion, water and wastewater, and solid waste. The course will run from 1 October – 5 December 2018. For further information, visit the website of Canada’s EcoFiscal Commission.
